Obtain a reef rock and or possibly a couple of shells to hold the Berghia shipping jar down on or against the rocks. Complete a dry or practice run before the Berghia arrive. If drip acclimation is your plan, obtain and test drip lines ahead of time. Select a suitable bucket for the overflow just in case. IF there is a flaw in your setup, there will be time to obtain supply replacements before the Berghia arrive. Look over our acclimation demo photos placing shells to hold the jars and read the acclimation articles beforehand. There is a handout available for download to explain a few things to expect. Planning will assure a smooth transition. Waiting until night and lights off is not necessary, as long as the lights are turned down. Berghia will naturally crawl out of the jar into the rocks in a few hours or less as they prefer to be in the rocks. To start the process, turn sump lights off, remove the jar parafilm seal, and float the jar for 15 minutes in your sump. This will equilibrate the shipping jar temperature with your reef. Proceed with the completion of your plan.
